Pastelón is a classic Puerto Rican casserole dish made of sweet plantain strips fried and laid between layers of savory ground meat and mozzarella cheese. Great as a meal on its own, or add a side of rice or beans for a complete feast!
This traditionally Cuban-dish named "ropa vieja" meaning "old clothes" due the beef resembling torn clothes when shredded, is a customer favorite! Our version begins with slow cooked beef in our tomato base sauce for 8+ hours, with onions, potatoes, light peas, Spanish olives, and our spice blend, and then pulled apart to soft delicious perfection. Served along side your choice of rice, and with 2 pieces of platanos maduros (fried sweet plantain).
